Gleeson Homes has applied to build 112 homes on land to the north of Stoneyford Road in Stanton Hill, near Sutton-in-Ashfield

Nottinghamshire villagers fear their home won't cope as more than 100 new houses are planned where hundreds are already built. .

But locals have opposed the project, citing concerns over what they saw as an excess of house building in the area and a lack of the infrastructure to service it. One resident of Gardiner Terrace said: "We already struggle for doctors appointments in the area. Schools in the area are overrun no plans for new schools or new doctors. Clean the area up and the abandoned properties that we already have.

A resident of The Crescent added: "The Skegby and Teversal community simply does not have an infrastructure that can support another 112 dwellings. The pressure that the Gleeson estate already in construction will have on our community cannot be supported via the current infrastructure such as schools, GP surgeries and roads etc let alone yet another development."
