The infamous bollard outside Netherfield Lidl, known for several collisions with vehicles over the past year, has been given a Christmas makeover. Decorated with tinsel, a Santa hat, and even a set of Christmas lights, the community has added their own creative touches, including a cardboard sign that reads 'My name is Mr Post'.
Netherfield Lidl 's infamous bollard - notorious for its involvement in a number of collisions with vehicles in the past twelve months - has received a festive spruce-up. The four-foot-tall post - once yellow, now with black stripes - has been kitted out in tinsel and a Santa hat and even has a pair of googly eyes stuck to its exterior.
Latest photographs show the bollard even has a set of fully-operating Christmas lights wrapped around it. And there's another new addition - a cardboard sign stuck to the place where the now-anthropomorphic post's arms would be, which says: "My name is Mr Post. Please don't hit me :)" If that is the case, it seems to be doing its job. But its location has also caused outcry amongst those who have hit it, with many saying it is in an awkward blind spot and that the number of drivers that have hit it prove that it is clearly not visible enough.
The pole has gone through a number of changes in its existence. It was originally half the size it is now, before being replaced for a bigger variant after a first batch of cars smashed into or scraped past it.
