A huge fire has broken out at the old site of Broadmoor Hospital, a psychiatric institution where some of the nation’s most prolific killers have been held.
in Chaplains Hill, Crowthorne. The new Broadmoor Hospital is located nearby but the emergency services have said that “the fire is not located at the current hospital site and there is no risk to patients and staff”. The infamous high-security hospital has held criminals including Charles Bronson, Ronnie Kray and Robert Maudsley.The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said on X, formerly known as Twitter: “We are attending a fire at a derelict building on the old Broadmoor Hospital site.
“The current hospital site is not affected. Please stay clear of the area but if you are nearby, please keep windows and doors closed.”Starmer confirms plan to lower voting age to 16
