Emergency services blocked off the road on Bernard Terrace in Newington at around 8pm
Cordoning off the road, images taken from the scene have shown four fire engines and two ambulances outside the block of flats, as well as multiple hose pipes in use.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had been alerted to the blaze in a second floor flat, with the fire now under control. Sending a number of water pumps to the scene, some crews were still in attendance shortly after 9.30pm. It is unclear if there have been any injuries as a result of the blaze.READ MORE:
