A fire has ripped through a property in East Kilbride with firefighters still at the scene as they tackle the blaze in high winds. Neighbours watched on as the flames tore through the roof of the home.
Firefighters and emergency crews raced to an East Kilbride street after a fire ripped through a property this evening.
The alarm was raised at around 5.40pm after reports of a fire at a property on Whitelee Street. It is currently unknown if there are any casualties. Police officers also remain at the incident and are urging members of the public to avoid the area as emergency crews remain on the scene. Some roads have been closed while crews tackle the blaze in tough weather conditions.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A number of road closures are currently in place in the Whitelee area of East Kilbride due to a fire. Please avoid the area.
