Thirteen crews were called to the blaze on the Pacific Highway in Slacks Creek around 2:30am with police declaring a crime scene

"The current injuries would indicate that the firefighters [were in] certainly intense and very hot fire," Deputy Commissioner Wassing said. The fire was contained around 6am and police have declared the site a crime scene with the cause of the fire still under investigation.Detective Inspector Chris Knight said there is a heavy police presence at the scene and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Police Detective Inspector Knight said a power pole recently knocked down and causing power interruptions in the area over the last few days was being "taken into consideration"."They have been in contact with investigators and still in contact with investigators now," Detective Inspector Knight said.
