Fire containment lines will likely come under intense pressure, with authorities saying if fires take off they will be difficult to control. Western Downs Mayor Paul McVeigh says the council is seeking to establish an emergency shelter near Tara to handle the situation and evacuate people if necessary. Many of those evacuated from bushfires near Tara are now in alternative accommodation.

He said it will work as a gathering area for people who need to evacuate and organise how "to handle the situation".He said those meeting there could then work through whether they are taken to the evacuation centre at Dalby or another form of accommodation. Now, this blaze has already claimed the lives of two people while its been burning this past week. One man was trying to defend his property here in Tara, while a woman trying to evacuate died of a suspected cardiac arrest while evacuating. The fire along Lowmead Road is still burning. It is travelling towards Colosseum and Fingerboard Road. QFES can’t confirm if any homes have been lost in the area.but are unlikely to reach the coast north of the Gold Coast. A very low chance of severe thunderstorms today. "Elsewhere on the Sunshine Coast residents at properties near Imbil between Kenilworth Skyring Creek Road, Chinamans Creek Road and Ironstone Creek Road are watching an advice level fire.
