Five Guys Preston - First look inside US chain's first Lancashire restaurant
"The first customer through our doors had been emailing us for months asking for our opening date, he was that excited to come." Those were the words of Five Guys district manager Adam Short just days after the chain threw open the doors to its new fast food restaurant in Preston.
View gallery "When we advertised for staff, we got an amazing response and I knew there would be quite a bit of excitement about the first one to open in Lancashire," said Adam, who travelled to America to learn about the brand before bringing his expertise back home with him. Over the years Five Guys have garnered a fierce reputation for their custom-made burgers - of which there are a possible 250,000 ingredient combinations - fresh fries, thick signature milkshakes and a variety of different soft drinks. The Deepdale restaurant is decked out in the chain's iconic white and red chequered-flag design with tall tables, booth seating and huge sacks of potatoes on display inside the American-style diner.
