The body of Garry Thomson was found in the Gairbrig Crescent area of Guardbridge - around three miles from St Andrews - on Wednesday evening.

Police were called to the scene amid reports of a death of a 60-year-old man. Garry was from the local area and his family are aware. A 57-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and is due to appear before Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, 23 October. Detective Sergeant Kevin Petrie said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Thomson at this difficult time, and we ask that their privacy is respected."
