The 42-year-old is being held in custody following the tragic discovery in Bristol during the early hours of this morning (Sunday). Police said they had attended a concern welfare call at the property on Blaise Walk, in the Sea Mills district of the city, at around 12.40am.
The three youngsters’ lives ‘could not be saved’, police said ‘The death of such young children is a great shock to the whole community and this incident has had a profound and deep impact on all of us in the police.’ A neighbour who didn’t wish to be named said the victims’ parents were both Sudanese and described the arrested woman as ‘lovely’. She added: ‘She was so happy when she had that little boy. We were so happy for her, we came round and gave gifts.
‘I’m very surprised because she was really gentle, really lovely. ‘She always had a smile on her face. After the baby, she was having a really hard time.’ Sea Mills Primary School confirmed it would be closed on Monday morning, instead opening to pupils at 1.30pm. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed they have notified the Independent Office for Police Conduct , the police watchdog, due to prior police contact.
