The £40million plan for a 46-acre resort overlooking the iconic Scots landscape is hugely controversial.

It's D-Day for Flamingo Land’s bid to build a mega resort on the banks of Loch Lomond with park bosses set to decide its fate.

In a mammoth 150-page report, they concluded the scale of the proposal was too large for the area and went against the park’s aim to preserve the “natural and cultural heritage” of the Bonnie Banks. It has also been opposed by the National Trust for Scotland, Woodland Trust, Ramblers Scotland and the local community council - and seen a “holding objection” from eco regulator SEPA over potential flood risk.

“Their application has generated a record level of opposition and united some of the most respected conservation groups in the country.
