Carabao Cup: League Two Fleetwood Town knock a second-string West Bromwich Albion side out of the competition
Charlie Adam's Fleetwood Town produced one of the shocks of the night in the Carabao Cup as they knocked out Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
But Fleetwood were level on 12 minutes from Ryan Graydon's right-foot shot, and the winning goal came on 33 minutes when Ronan Coughlan found the bottom right corner. Faal, on his first Albion appearance since April 2023, put the visitors in front when he chipped home a left-footed shot from summer signing Devante Cole's through ball.
And, on 33 minutes, the Cod Army were ahead when Matty Virtue broke down the inside-right channel, picked out Coughlan on the left side of the area and he drew Albion's debutant keeper Joe Wildsmith before finding the bottom right corner.
