Parents are looking towards the garden – and botanical or floral names – for 2025.
Floral-inspired baby names are set to be one of the biggest naming trends for 2025, experts have predicted. Naming experts who've looked at the government data in recent years say that botanical-themed names – including one with a royal connection – are set to bloom next year.
They found that the girl's name Heather is top of the floral-inspired names for 2025, having seen a 617% growth in popularity since the 20th century.Top of the floral-themed boys' list for 2025 is the name William, associated with the plant 'Sweet William', a pink fringed petal flower synonymous with British summer. It’s also considered a 'flower of the gods'.
