Eight people aged between 16 and 23 were arrested following the incident in Radford
Videos posted on social media platforms have revealed the frightening moments a large group of people gathered in Radford on Bonfire Night allegedly started throwing fireworks at each other. The incidents outside a number of student accommodation blocks on Midland Way, Radford, were first reported to Nottinghamshire Police at around 11pm on Sunday, November 5.
Footage shows a large police presence at the scene, with multiple officers and police cars among the crowds close to the Nottingham Two student accommodation on Midland Way. Following the incidents, students living in the area have reported being 'scared' to leave their accommodation, as well as a firecracker being fired under a police car during the 'hectic evening'.
“It was remarkable that no injuries were reported. A series of arrests were made as we took tough action to bring the matter under control.“An investigation is underway and we'll seek to prosecute anyone involved.” Anyone with mobile phone, social media footage or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 723 of November 5, 2023.
