Ministry of Justice data reveals that foreign criminals who avoided deportation carried out more than 10,000 crimes in a year, marking a 25 percent increase from the previous year. The data covers 3,235 criminals who were released from jail without deportation, committing 10,012 offences from April 2021 to March 2022. Over the past four years, these offenders have been responsible for 40,000 crimes ranging from robbery to murder.
Notable cases include Jamaican criminal Ernesto Elliot, who murdered a man six months after his deportation was delayed, and 'Rolex Ripper' Amine Bentaib, who attempted to steal a £18,000 watch from a grandfather in London and was jailed for 45 months
