A long abandoned hairdressers remained part of the forgotten mezzanine level before it was demolished
The huge redevelopment of Stretford town centre has seen much of its main shopping centre demolished. Opened in 1969, Stretford Mall was built to replace the traditional shopping district centred around King Street., Stretford Mall was beginning to resemble a 'dead' or 'ghost' mall. This is a term used to describe a shopping centre with a high vacancy rate and low consumer traffic that appears dated or deteriorating.
However, a few years ago, a long abandoned mezzanine level above the market hall was rediscovered looking as if it had been Adding:"I couldn't get an exact date on the last time this was open for business, but by the looks of things, it doesn’t look like the place was around to welcome in the '90s." Photographs of the units in the story perfectly illustrate the description with headshots of women sporting the most 1980s of coiffured perms.
