Billy credits Simon Community Scotland with saving his life after overdosing in the city centre and has now turned his life around and studying to provide a better future for him and his family
Billy was slumped in an alley off Buchanan Street in Glasgow city centre , with a needle still in his arm when his guardian angel found him.
Speaking on the podcast Billy from Glasgow talks about being homeless and addicted to cocaine and heroin. Outreach workers from Simon Community approached him when he was begging to tell him about their services. One day Jim received a call from Billy in which he sounded in a bad way, so despite already finishing for the day, Jim headed to the streets to find Billy. He found him in a lane just off Buchanan Street and managed to get him the help he needed.
Laura said on the podcast: "I speak to the guys on the street and they say 'you don't know what it's like, you don't know what I'm going through.
