Thousands of additional tests for patients will be carried out each week
A former hospital has been demolished to make way for a new community diagnostic centre. In February 2024, work began on the new CDC at the Mansfield Community Hospital site in Stockwell Gate.
This new centre will allow for more than 38,000 extra diagnostic tests. This will be the first community diagnostic centre in Nottinghamshire and once fully operational it will provide a one-stop shop for patients across the county and carry out thousands more tests each week. The trust has prioritised sustainability throughout the demolition process and achieved a 90 per cent recycle rate from the waste generated on the site. Additionally, around 60 per cent of the loose items within the building have been reclaimed to be reused and recycled.
“The new site will be built with improved insulation and stricter air leakage limits which will minimise energy losses, leading to a more comfortable and energy-efficient building. Mansfield CDC will also have Solar PV panels installed, which will provide energy savings, making the project both environmentally friendly and cost-effective."
