The building has been empty for years
Plans to demolish a former pub in Stockport and replace it with a drive-thru Starbucks have been revealed. Planning permission is being sought to flatten the former Three Crowns pub in Heaton Norris to make way for the coffee shop.
Owner and applicant the Axiel Group say in a statement supporting their application: "Terms have been agreed with Starbucks to occupy and operate the proposed unit subject to receipt of a satisfactory planning permission in accordance with their requirements."The new 171 square metre coffee shop would use the current vehicle access on Hesketh Street, it is proposed. The drive-thru unit would be at the southern end of the site with the drive-thru lane 'wrapping around' the rear.
It would be open from 6am until 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am until 8pm on Sundays. Those behind it say it will 'will result in significant economic benefits' with around 20 jobs being created in the coffee shop itself.
