FOUR former Glasgow Police officers who died while on duty have been added to the “Roll of Honour” this year.

It comes after senior cops along with family, friends and colleagues attended an annual memorial event to remember all those who passed away while in uniform.

As part of it, three officers from the City of Glasgow Police – Constable Donald McIntrye who died in 1870, Constable Francis Noble who passed away in 1874, and Constable Thomas Shields who died in 1913 were added to the honour list, which commemorates the life and service of officers who have died on duty since 1812.

Co-founder of the Scottish Police Memorial Trust, Christine Fulton MBE, whose husband PC Lewis Fulton was killed on duty in Glasgow in 1994, said: “The annual service of remembrance is a very poignant event, as it allows us to reconnect with old friends and colleagues and reflect on those we lost in the line of duty.
