The towering goalkeeper impressed over multiple spells in Glasgow and has reflected on the highlights
Fraser Forster says the night he halted Barcelona will live for him forever - and he even left with Lionel Messi's shirt after his Celtic heroics.
He returned to Celtic on loan for the 2019/20 campaign for a second spell with Neil Lennon and was inspirational during the 1-0 League Cup final success against Rangers, but stayed at Saints until 2022 when he joined Spurs. Forster has reflected on his career with the Off the Shelf Podcast and was asked about his favourite piece of football memorabilia.
Forster had said on the famous night against Barca: “It’s impossible to put into words. We’d played them away, I think, two weeks earlier and we lost 2-1 in the last minute and I’d made saves, but the performance we’d put in away from home really carried us into the home one because we knew we’d have the fans with us.
“But the noise that night as well – obviously we ended up going 2-0 up and they scored right at the end but it was just, kind of, unbelievable. It was just one of those days when you’re in the zone and everything goes your way. You’re seeing the ball like it’s a gym ball and it’s just amazing.
