Alabama is set to host its Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 8, with the majority of the state's public fresh and salt water spots open to the public to test their angling skills without needing to purchase a fishing license. DOTHAN, Ala. - If you have been waiting for that perfect day to fish, the state of Alabama may have set you up perfectly for this weekend.
With the event taking place during Alabama’s red snapper season, saltwater anglers will not have to worry about having a salwater fishing license or reef fish endorsement on Saturday. These items will be required for the remainder of the year.
