FRANCE’S carrier strike group, including its aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, is set to visit the Philippines for a port call visit and will hold a bilateral military exercise with the US Navy east of the Philippines.
French Ambassador to Manila Marie Fontanel announced this during a maritime forum hosted by the think-tank Stratbase International.
After this multilateral exercise, the French Carrier Group will have bilateral exercises with the US in the Philippine Sea. Aside from Charles de Gaulle, the other naval assets in the carrier strike group involve destroyer FS Forbin, frigates FS Provence, and FS Alsace, fleet oiler FS Jacques Chevallier, and a nuclear powered attack submarine.
