The results demonstrate that exceptional fish and chips are available throughout the country.Organised by Fry Magazine, the awards recognise the outstanding achievements of chippies across the UK. The judging process, spanning several months, involved mystery diners who secretly assessed takeaways, restaurants, and mobile units based on various criteria. The 13th edition of the Fry Awards saw judges impressed by the quality of the food they encountered. Feedback from the tastings included glowing remarks such as 'the best fish and chips we've had in a long time', 'no improvements needed', and 'the fish was perfectly white'. Each participating business was evaluated across several key areas, including food quality, value for money, cleanliness of the premises, staff expertise, ease of ordering, and social media presence. Only establishments achieving the highest scores, a remarkable 96% or above, were awarded recognition. Notably, several businesses even achieved the full 100% score. Among the winners were two London-based establishments: Toff’s of Muswell Hill, ranking within the top 10 restaurants, and The Anchor in Bexley, South East London, securing a place among the top 50 takeaways.
