The tax-free Christmas Bonus will be paid automatically to those who qualify in December
The Department for Work and Pensions will pay a Christmas Bonus to millions of families this winter. The one-off payment is for people claiming certain eligible benefits. If you are entitled to the bonus it will be paid automatically, you do not need to apply.
A petition was started last year to increase the payment in line with inflation. It now has almost 20,000 signatures.
