Certain Scottish Cup final combinations could have big consequences for several Premiership clubs come the end of the season.
We're getting to the business end of the season and it's just over two months until the prizes are handed out.
It seems increasingly likely that there's only one remaining top six spot up for grabs. Hibs occupy it but Motherwell and Dundee are looking to sneak in ahead of the Hibees. And that's when things could get interesting with five Euro places potentially on offer and one guaranteed Conference League group stage spot. Suddenly, Scottish Cup gets even more interesting as it will play kingmaker. Things can swing after the split and pressure does funny things to teams.
The Jambos face Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final. Knocking them out will be hard enough, although then they are faced with a dilemma.
Last season, it was an all-Glasgow last four encounter on one half of the draw, with Falkirk taking on Inverness in the other. Aberdeen were home and hosed in third, and whilst there was a puncher's chance of the cup final upset of all upsets, there was never any realistic danger of them sensationally missing out on their European guarantee. This time, both the Dons and Jambos pose credible threat should they make the Final.
