UNISON and EIS-FELA members at the college are among thousands across Scotland to take industrial action in a dispute over job cuts, pay and conditions
Union employees at UHI Perth are on strike again tomorrow with another national walkout date announced for next month.A previous strike was held on Thursday, September 7 when the Crieff Road campus was closed for the day, including the library and nursery, with all in-person classes cancelled.
Tomorrow’s strike day is part of a rolling 12-day programme of dates over September 11-26 for localised action in institutions across the country. However, the proposal comes with plans for 50 compulsory redundancies to college support staff in Perth. This led to UNISON staff in Perth expressing an “unprecedented” third vote of no confidence in senior leadership, with an open letter urging UHI Perth principal Dr Margaret Cook to resign.
