It's finally opening
It has been confirmed that we are now just a month away from the opening of the GAIL’s bakery in Prestwich .
Last year, rumours that the bakery would be moving to the town began circulating before the news was confirmed back in October. GAIL’s will be situated in the former NatWest bank building on Bury New Road - directly opposite the recently-opened Rudy’s pizzeria. It is also set to utilise the bank building’s original 4.5m high ceilings and ‘reflect Prestwich's early history as a centre of weaving manufacturing’. It will also red tiles in an 'ode to the diversity of brick architecture used in Prestwich during the Victorian era'.
But their looming arrival in Prestwich has not been without a set of hurdles. Announcing their move to North Manchester, the bakery shared signs on its new venue introducing itself to Prestwich residents - yet managed to spell the town’s name incorrectly as ‘Preswich’.
