Gary Glitter’s fears of dying behind bars look increasingly likely to be realised after he failed to compensate one of his victims. The paedophile singer is serving 16 years behind bars and may face a longer stretch after ignoring a High Court order to pay £508,000 to a woman he abused when he was 12.
"The longer he carries on this ignorance the worse it will get for him. He already fears dying in prison. He now faces an even longer prison sentence. He was then rejected for parole in February. A contempt conviction could mean he stays in jail beyond his current release date of February 2031. High Court judge Mrs Justice Tipples said the woman’s sexual abuse when she was 12 “has had a very significant adverse impact on the rest of her life”.
