Gaucho's head chef Farnhan Ali explained what it's really like behind the scenes
The Argentinian steakhouse has been a heavy hitter in the hospitality industry for years. Although the Liverpool location is just barely a year old - celebrating its first birthday today, Friday, November 3 - steak lovers around the UK have labelled it as one of the top venues for prime cuts you can find.
He told the ECHO: "I learned so much but we were using the same ingredients, same methods and cooking the same food every day. It's an amazing place to be as a chef because you learn so much from the best but there's not really room to experiment or grow personally" Farnhan's industry knowledge and culinary skills would skyrocket the venue to success so when the company decided to open a Liverpool location in 2022, he was top of the pecking order to organise a launch team. He added: "The bosses were putting so much money into this new venue and although I loved my home in Manchester, it was something new again to try.
Gaucho Liverpool's grand opening went off without a hitch and every day since has lived up to Farnhan's expectations. He said: "As a chef you want to be proud of the food you cook. Here, in Liverpool, we have a beef bar where guests can enjoy an experience on top of their meals - this is a first for the company and no other site has this so far.
