I've read other books before, and you can tell that they've been done by a ghost writer. It didn't sound like those people that are supposed to have written them,” he said during a recent interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group. “And so, I was determined that this one would be just me. It would sound like me writing it. Much like I was telling my story to a friend or my grandchildren. Sure, the help I had was like researching what album came out when and what tour was where and when.

"Into the Void" delves into the creative process behind these masterpieces, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the studio sessions and the relentless pursuit of perfection that defined Sabbath's legacy.
Around a day later, while Geezer was enjoying tea with his family, there was a knock at the door. Shortly after, his brother Jimmy called out, "There's someone at the door asking for you." So, Geezer went hunting for some new bandmates. This would be the final steps in the forming of Sabbath. The future Rock and Roll Hall of Famer went out and purchased a secondhand bass, but one caveat: It only had two strings on it. That wasn’t a detriment for Geezer, who was used to working with less than perfect equipment.
With that one, Ozzy came up with the lyrics and Bill. I think that's the only song he ever wrote the complete lyrics for, and that sort of paved the way,” he said. It shows how we were perceiving the world at the time, because none of us had any money, we didn't have cars or anything like that. We were living in houses that didn't have hot water or indoor bathroom or anything like that. And so we were just reflecting our environment.
Holed up in Regent Sound Studios, the band summoned a torrential downpour of heavy riffs and brooding atmospherics that would redefine the very essence of rock ‘n’ roll. Tony Iommi’s guitar, still healing from a recent factory accident, bled through the speakers with a ferocity that belied the simplicity of their recording process.
Released on Friday the 13th, 1970, what their eponymous debut album unleashed upon the was nothing short of a revelation. From the ominous tolling bells of "Black Sabbath" to the blistering riffs of "The Wizard" and the brooding atmosphere of "N.I.B.," each track was a descent into the abyss of their collective psyche.
