The owner is being hunted by police after the girl was left with serious facial injuries.
A six-year-old girl suffered serious injuries to her face after being bitten by a pitbull-type dog at a restaurant, police said.
The child was attacked while playing in the garden of a Toby Carvery in Ewell on Sunday afternoon, Surrey Police said. Any witnesses to the incident, at around 4pm at the restaurant on Cheam Road, were urged to come forward.The dog is said to be white and ‘similar to a pitbull or a Staffordshire bull terrier’, according to the force.Pc James Butcher said: ‘Due to the nature of this incident, the injuries sustained could have been a lot more serious.
‘We are keen to speak to the owner of the dog and urge anyone with any information to get in contact with us.’
