Marini's restaurant in Baillieston, Glasgow, has reintroduced their popular deep-fried battered Pigs in Blankets, a festive twist on the traditional sausage supper that went viral last year.
There's nothing better at Christmas than indulging is some delightful comfort food, and one Glasgow chippy has brought back their festive twist on a traditional favourite that went viral last year. Marini’s restaurant in Baillieston has announced the return of their menu addition that gives their sausage suppers an upgrade, adding bacon and transforming them into deep-fried battered Pigs in Blankets.
The festive treat was a massive hit last year and saw the chippy hit headlines around the country. Dubbed the Notorious P.I.B, the special is on offer with the monster pigs (which you get two of) as a single for £5 or as a supper for £7.50. The large Pigs in Blankets even come with gravy for dripping, and our mouths are are watering just writing about it. As well as the larger version, they are also doing original-sized battered pigs in blankets (6 for £5.95) which come with its own 2oz tub of cranberry sauce. Both have been so popular they've been flying out of the shop, with staff now having to let people know on their Facebook page when fresh batches are brought in and available to buy
