Road police officers spotted the motorist on the M77 at Dumbreck in the early hours of Thursday (October 24) morning and claim the driver was travelling at 84mph on a 50mph limit road.
A driver allegedly going over the speed limit is said to have failed a roadside breath test after being stopped by police.

The roadside breath test for alcohol allegedly came back as 95 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, where the legal limit is 22 milligrams. A spokesperson for Road Policing Scotland said: "Glasgow road police spotted this car travelling at speed on the motorway during the early hours, the reason for the manner of driving soon became apparent.
