There were 257 people queuing for a hot meal last night
A Glasgow homeless charity have had their busiest night so far in they city centre after they dished out hot food to 257 people.
The Homeless Project Scotland's soup kitchen was queued all the way back with people in need of a meal. The charity took to Twitter and said: "GLASGOW WAS VERY HUNGRY - Tonight was the busiest night we have had with 257 people fed hot food tonight, @GlasgowCC @LeaderGCC @NicolaSturgeon @ScotGovFM @scotgov we need your help to bring people indoors can you help ?? #scotland #soupkitchen #hotfood #homeless #homelessness"Over the last few weeks the charity has helped just over 150 people each night, providing those who need it most with nutrition, warmth and social interaction.
They have seen a rise in the number of people utilising the soup kitchen over the last few months and are now looking for more help to shelter those currently living without homes.
