Steven Sandilands was jailed for two years after splashing Hayyaan Bashir, 22, with scorching hot tea in the face. Shortly after, he carried out the attempted robbery and assaulted another man.
Police have slammed the "violent" hot tea attack on an innocent 22-year-old man who was waiting to catch his train to work, from Queen Street station.
"As I was dabbing my wound with tissue, my skin was coming off in my hands. There was blood and it was really scary. Sandilands was arrested for the unprovoked attack which took place in February, and pleaded guilty to assault to severe injury against Hayyaan.
