Glasgow's Old Firm clubs are to meet for the 17th time in a League Cup final when they kick off on Sunday afternoon, as Police Scotland impose a ban on drones above the ground.
An air restriction zone is to be imposed over Hampden Park as Celtic and Rangers prepare to meet in the Premier Sports Cup final.
The restriction, imposed by Police Scotland, bans any unmanned aircraft such as drones from flying within one nautical mile of the national stadium between 1pm and 7pm on Sunday . Glasgow's Old Firm clubs are to meet for the 17th time in a League Cup final when they kick off at 3.30pm. Rangers have won nine of the previous 16 Old Firm finals to Celtic's seven, and whoever wins on Sunday, it will be the 50th League Cup won by one of Glasgow's Old Firm clubs. The competition has been contested 79 times since 1946.
Police announced Saturday morning the ban extends to drones up to a height of 1,000ft. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "An air restriction zone will be in place in the area surrounding Hampden Park in Glasgow between 1pm and 7pm on Sunday, 15 December. "No uncrewed aircraft is permitted in the area within a one nautical mile radius of the stadium, up to a height of 1,000ft, without permission of Police Scotland during this time."Sign up to our daily Glasgow Live newsletter here to receive news and features direct to your inbox
