The Met Office western Scotland will see the worst of the windy weather on Sunday, with gusts of between 70 and 80mph in western Scotland expected on Sunday afternoon

Glasgow is set to be blasted by winds of up to 80mph over the weekend as a 36-hour weather warning has been issued for the city.

Argyll and Bute will be hit by high winds on Friday, with gusts in excess of 60mph expected between 7pm and 3pm. The Met Office warns that the high winds will bring "a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris," and that there is a slight chance of damage to buildings, power cuts and roads and bridge closing. Road, rail, air and ferry services may also be affected.
