Its founder, Joshua, aims to bring functional medicine to those suffering from chronic symptoms as well as helping athletes and busy professionals up-level their performance.
, which has opened on Great Western Road, features a venue boasting filtered air and nontoxic paint and offers a range of high-tech wellness services as part of their ‘mission to guide clients to optimal health and wellness’ including virtual reality to improve mental health , compression boots for inflammation and yoga to centre the body and mind.
Founder Joshua Fields, 33, was inspired to bring ‘functional medicine’ and innovative treatments to Scotland following his own healing journey from chronic health issues. He said: “Our flagship space was designed with wellbeing science in mind. Our mission at Holon is to democratise access to cutting-edge wellness technologies and functional medicine diagnostics to help people move towards better health and performance.
"Although we’re new to Glasgow, these principles of healing are well established in functional medicine, also known as ‘root-cause medicine’. We’re looking at the ‘whole’ picture of what contributes to how someone feels: not just exercise, food, and sleep, but also toxins, micronutrients, gut health, light exposure, and the nervous system.”
The flagship healing space is the brainchild of Oxford and Harvard graduate, 33-year-old Joshua Fields, who hails from the city. The designers say clients are greeted with an understated, black exterior before entering a welcoming reception area. Natural clay walls, covered in nontoxic paint, meet cork floors while many of the surfaces are curved in order to ‘deepen relaxation the moment you walk in’.
