Joe Pryce, manager of Glencairn FC, has challenged his players to make history in their first-ever Scottish Cup match beyond the preliminary rounds against former SPFL side Cowdenbeath. Despite being underdogs, Pryce insists his team won't be intimidated and aims for an upset.
Joe Pryce has challenged his Glencairn stars to make club history in Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie at Cowdenbeath .But the gaffer insists his West of Scotland Premier League title challengers won’t be suffering from an inferiority complex in their first-ever match in the competition beyond the preliminary rounds.
Pryce said: “It’s a great occasion for the club to be in the first round of the Scottish Cup away to a club with the history of Cowdenbeath.“We know it’s going to be difficult, Cowdenbeath are obviously going to be the big favourites against us, so we’ve just got to go there and give it our best shot – and we’ll certainly do that.“People say we’ve got nothing to lose, but we’ve got a cup tie to lose, the same as Cowdenbeath.
