Glens goalkeeper determined to help the club get back to its former glory
Dániel Gyollai may have only been in Northern Ireland for the last couple of months but the 27-year-old is feeling right at home with Glentoran.
After playing 39 games with Maidenhead United in the National League last season Gyollai has now put down roots in Northern Ireland. He understands the scale of the club and the task ahead as they look to return Glentoran to challenging for honours once more under Declan Devine with the chance of playing in European competition a major carrot for the big stopper.
"I think it's a massive selling point for players coming from England. Frankie is only 19 and he has the opportunity to do that now. As I say it's a massive selling point for the league and attracts a lot of players. You could stay in England and play in the lower leagues or come here and play for a massive club like Glentoran who have a great history in Europe.
"I'm really enjoying it here. The Irish League is a great standard, it shows it with Larne one game away from the group stages in Europe. That's what we're aspiring to. I think we have a great group of lads and staff. Everyone is here to put the club back on the map and secure one of those European spots."
