Good Morning Britain host, Susanna Reid, started Monday's show by warning viewers to 'be careful' amid the Met Office issuing an 'amber' alert for some parts in the UK over flooding

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid has issued a caution to viewers during Monday's programme, advising them to "be careful" as they head out.

During the broadcast, Susanna, 53, remarked: "Be careful out there this morning, the roads are liker rivers in some areas!" Her fellow presenter Richard Madeley contributed his own experience, saying: "Driving around the North Circular in London this morning was like driving under water it was extraordinary, sheets of water across the carriage way."

"The impacts could include localised flooding in urban areas and fast-responding catchments, including some property flooding as well as travel disruption." Sarah further reassured that while the threat of river flooding remains minimal, Environment Agency teams are prepared and available to assist local authorities with any surface water flooding incidents, reports the Mirror.

It comes as Richard, 68, returned to Good Morning Britain last week, with co-host Susanna welcoming him back to the show. After a preview of the then day's content, Susanna greeted Richard with a warm: "Welcome back" to which he replied: "It's good to be back."
