PC Ryan Pointon wept as he left court
A trainee Greater Manchester Police officer wept as he left court after being cleared of sexually assaulting a female colleague.
Mr Pointon, of The Meadows, Prestwich, had also been accused of asking the woman prying questions about her sex life. He admitted giving her a lift home but denied any inappropriate behaviour. Mr Pointon told the court that on an earlier occasion in a police station he showed her how to attach her baton correctly and poked her leg to show where it would reach. He said that he referenced this incident during the trip and asked her if she was going to poke him on the leg again.
Mr Pointon told the court: "I said 'do you like it?’ and she said ‘yes, a little bit.’" Pointon said that he believed the woman had 'embellished' her story as she was upset with him.
