Tras esta decisión, el estado se suma a las demás entidades —cerca de la mitad del país– que han adoptado medidas similares.
“Las escuelas públicas deben ser entornos seguros y acogedores para todos los estudiantes, independientemente de su orientación sexual o identidad de género”, dijo en un comunicado. “Vergüenza debería darle al gobernador Sununu firmar esta legislación que excluye a los estudiantes del atletismo, que puede ayudar a fomentar un sentido de pertenencia que es tan crítico para que los jóvenes crezcan bien”.
