Thought they looked familiar
Gogglebox isn't the first time Pete and Sophie Sandiford have been on TV as rare footage emerges of them gracing our screens before the reality series.
The popular siblings, from Blackpool, were scouted for the hit Channel 4 programme after appearing in adverts in 2016. TalkTalk launched its 'This Stuff Matters' campaign after spending months interviewing families up and down the country. They finally settled on the Sandiford family in Blackpool. Mum Julie, Dad Paul, and kids Sophie and Pete - along with their brother and sister Lucy and Harry - and Elvis the dog all took part. To create the advert, the family were filmed non stop for two weeks with 17 unmanned cameras to find the perfect "ordinary, everyday moments".The clips selected for the advert showed the family watching TV, eating their tea and chatting to friends on the phone and via video calls, ECHO reports.
The final clip shows the entire family sat together watching TV. Sophie and Pete's appearance on the advert ultimately led to them joining Gogglebox in 2017. The duo have been favourites on the show ever since, with their close bond and quick wit. The are currently appearing on the 21st series of the show which airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4 and All4.
