Gogglebox series regular Stephen Webb has claimed he was subject to a homophobic attack while with his husband. He took to Instagram to say he was called a homophobic slur while enjoying the evening in Brighton.
He accompanied the image with: ‘Last night Daniel and I were called “f**king f****ts” this was on Hove sea front!The post was showered in love and support, with one person writing: ‘It’s pathetic that so many people are obsessed with others’ relationships. They must be utterly miserable in their own lives. Ignore them and be proud.’Another said: ‘What the actual F ! Unreal, uneducated and unacceptable you guys are amazing.
‘They picked the wrong town. Come to think of it the wrong decade. Sorry you had to deal with someone else’s major character flaws x,’ another wrote.In May 2020,he shared with his followers a screenshot of the remark which was aimed at his sexuality.It is unclear what the comment was referring too but it read: ‘He is everything I detest about flamboyant gays’.
The hairdresser replied: ‘What a revolting homophobic comment! Please feel free to unfollow me you nasty woman.’ Gogglebox fans rushed to Stephen’s defence on social media with one commenting: ‘I’m so sorry that someone would talk to you in that disgusting manner. ‘NO ONE should be abused in that way. Just shows a mindless and spiteful nature. Lots of love to you x please carry on just being you!’Got a story?
