Mobile users have been urged to ensure their phones are running on the latest software update as tech giant Google has released a new Android security patch
If you're an Android smartphone user, it's crucial to ensure your device is updated with the latest software as soon as possible. This comes after a 'severe' alert from Google, who have identified several bugs that could potentially expose devices to cybercriminal attacks.
In tech terms, zero-day refers to a bug that has already been detected and is actively being exploited. Hence, it's vital to stay vigilant for the latest Android software patches and install them promptly. There's also the risk of 'remote code execution', where criminals can install things onto devices without needing physical access. "The most severe of these issues is a high security vulnerability in the System component that could lead to remote code execution with no additional execution privileges needed," Google warned, reports the Express.
