Help is on the way for the nationwide healthcare shortage that is being felt in rural hospitals across Alabama.

ASHS will be similar to the School of Cybertechnology and Engineering that’s right here in Huntsville. Project leaders expect the school will house around 400 students in grades 9 through 12. Brewer said that amount of students entering the medical field will have a big impact on staffing shortages felt at rural hospitals.
Brewer said now that the school has been established, they are focused on appointing the board of trustees so they can finalize the design, the curriculum, and the application process.
