The Ibrox icon had his say on the big game at Parkhead but was taken to task by his fellow pundit
Graeme Souness was armed with stats he claimed proved Celtic’s win WASN’T a demolition derby – only for pundit Simon Jordan to shoot down the Ibrox legend.
"That’s not bad for an away team. Celtic had 14 shots and Rangers 13. Celtic had four on target and Rangers had four on target. Celtic had five off target, we had five off target. Does that sound like a one-sided game? “Goals are the most important thing and change games. I didn’t watch the game thinking we were getting absolutely tonked - maybe that’s because I’m a bluenose. I didn’t see wave after wave of attack and our keeper making lots and lots of saves. I accepted last year there was a gap but not enormous.”
"If you can’t lay a glove on Celtic domestically and never beaten them then you have to say the gap is significant. The argument then is what do you do to try and achieve things. You try and get to the Champions League and then you draw Kyiv and got knocked out so any opportunity to bridge the game economically is taken away by performances on the field and that has to come down to the group of players and the manager.
