A horrible crash has brought out the safety car with just six laps to go in the Formula 2 feature race.
Enzo Fittipaldi lost control of his car into the gravel after coming out of the pits with fresh tyres. But after he got his car back onto the track, he drastically lost control again, just missing Roy Nissany who was already plugged into a wall, and smashed up the front of his car.
Australian Formula 2 driver Jack Doohan has avoided scrutiny from stewards for overtaking Zak Crawford, who ended up in the wall in Sunday’s feature race. Doohan, who had moved from 15th to ninth in the first eight laps, moved all the way to second as most of the cars in front of him decided to pit, but he pitted on the subsequent lap, opting for soft tyres, before doing one lap, and pitting again, putting the medium tyres back on which he hopes will see out the final 22 laps.
